PBP is a completely independent consultancy, income being derived only from fees charged to clients. PBP has no affiliation with catering equipment contractors, manufacturers or operating companies. The consultancy does not supply catering equipment or manage catering service contracts.

New projects are assigned a lead consultant, either from the management or technical planning department. The client is provided with a single point of contact, but a full team of back up personnel supports the consultants.

On projects with both a catering management and technical planning environment, the two sections work together as a team, enabling the design of a facility to develop with the benefit of the practical operational experience of the management consultants.

Currently, PBP is one of the five largest specifiers of catering equipment in the UK.

The consultancy is wholly owned by three shareholding directors - Peter Burholt, Kevin Barnes and Graham Moore. All directors, supported by experienced consultants, have an active role in the business.

A primary aim of the consultancy is to retain long-term relationships with clients, project managers, architects and other members of professional teams. The business holds a high referral rate and prides itself in delivering a personal service, on time and on budget.
